RESULTS! For a Greco-Roman Contest!

I wonder if I should post captions any more.  We had three entrants.   I do hereby proclaim the winner of the recent Greco Roman challenge  in this block of text, which is a simple substitution cypher.  Shouldn’t take too long for you to figure it out.

  1. WRONG!!!!
Either it is not a simple substitution code or you are not telling the truth.

First of all you say there wre three entires. There are only two posted on the list.

After that, I can’t be bothered working out substitution codes so I checked adjacent pairs of letters. The first message has only 2 words with paired letters, “Rocco” and “crossed.”

My message has seven “Chilli” “Dinner” “Till” “Rocco” “Loose” “”Rocco” and “roll”

Your message that you say won has only four “paired letters” “BQLLVM” “YKCJJ” “DFFD” and “MVTT”

There are three “Rocco’s” in my entry and there is only one sequence of DFFD which is two adjacent letters on each side of the two central paired letters so the sequence can’t be mine, and there are no three identical combinations anywhere. There is one “Rocco” in the other gentleman’s note, but he has only one other pair of letters “crossed” and there are four instances of adjacent crossed letters in the winning note, so it can’t be his either.

Besides, the TOTAL number of letters in the alleged winning note is too many for the other gentleman’s note and too few for mine.

    Sooooooooo…….

    where’s the winning entry Walt?

    • Free your mind, Otto!

DId I SAY all the entries were entered here? They are not! One of them is on Facebook, the Social Networking service, which receives a feed from humble ol’ THIRD POINT OF SINGULARITY.

Secondly, DID I SAY the answer would be encyphered verbatim? I did not! I said I would PROCLAIM THE WINNER, didn’t I?

So sharpen your pencil and back to the drawing board. You don’t get off quite that easily.
